Employers have a duty of care to keep employees safe by eliminating and controlling workplace violence and aggression (OVA). This OVA course creates awareness of workplace violence and aggression and enables employees, contractors, and volunteers to identify, report and respond to incidents of work-related violence and aggression. It also promotes a healthy and safe workplace, including the physical and psychological work environment.

Occupational violence and aggression is any incident in which someone is abused, threatened or assaulted at their place of work or in circumstances related to their work. It can occur whilst dealing with customers and clients in person, over the phone or online.

Work related violence covers a broad range of behaviours that create risks to the physical and/or psychological safety and wellbeing of workers.
