Description

Under the Fair Work (Registered Organisations) Act 2009, anyone is entitled to report a concern with a registered organisation. A Whistleblower is someone who makes a report about dishonest or illegal conduct of a registered organisation to the required authority, and is therefore protected by law against reprisal.

Not all concerns reported are protected by whistleblower legislation, therefore, it’s important to understand the following key criteria:

  • What concerns are protected?

  • Who can make a report as a whistleblower?

  • Who can be affected by a report?

At the end of this 20 minute course, you'll be familiar with the legislation and what protection it provides to Whistleblowers together with the correct reporting procedures to follow.
