This 40 minute Self Paced eLearning course is a general awareness course covering the anatomy of the spine, correct lifting techniques, risk assessment and much more. Suitable for all staff in all industry sectors. Developed in conjunction with highly respected Occupational Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy consultants.
This course will teach employees how to respond correctly to manual handling risks in the workplace. Employees will also be aware of their legal obligations to The Act, and will learn how to correctly lift, pull, push and carry heavy loads. It also covers some Workplace Health and Safety regulations related to manual handling, and looks in detail at the effects of improper manual handling.
Upon completion of this course, participants will learn:
● Why proper manual handling is important.
● What the WHS Act has to say about manual handling.
● How to correctly lift, pull, carry and push heavy loads.
● What a risk assessment is and how to complete one.
● The anatomy of the spine and back pain injuries related to improper manual handling.
● How to prevent workplace injuries when performing manual handling tasks.
This course is designed for organisation-wide delivery for employees and employers. Participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance on successful completion of this course.
Duration: 40 minutes
This course is valid for 12 months from the date of registration and can be completed online at any time that suits your own personal circumstances.
