This 45 minute Self Paced eLearning course is an introductory and refresher course that covers the basics of first aid in Australia. It covers basic steps on how to perform CPR, along with a range of other advice to do with accident and medical emergency responses including how to conduct a primary survey of a casualty, and how to respond to medical emergencies such as shock, electrocution, heart attacks and physical injuries.

Please note: this is an awareness course only and is not a substitute for face-to-face first aid training, or for training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). It is only intended to raise your awareness of how to respond to accidents and injuries.

Upon completion of this course, participants will learn:

● How to conduct a Primary Survey
● How to use Automated External Defibrillators
● How to treat soft tissue injuries
● How to react to spider and snake bites
● How to monitor a casualty’s vital signs
● How to treat external and internal bleeding
● How to identify and react to heart attacks
● How to identify and react to strokes

This course is designed for organisation-wide delivery for employees and employers. Participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance on successful completion of this course.

Duration: 45 minutes

This course is valid for 12 months from the date of registration and can be completed online at any time that suits your own personal circumstances.
